Notes on Tiny Flowers Photos

This page last modified on 16 June, 2004

This group offers a sample of the many interesting wildflowers in San Diego County which are small enough to be easy to overlook while walking in the bush.  Many have intricate patterns or other identifying characteristics which most people can only observe using a magnifying glass or similar device.

There are many more which might be shown on a page with this selection criterion.  But it seems that the 30 images currently shown here have reached, or perhaps exceeded, the number that can be conveniently studied and appreciated on a single page.  As an unsorted list of scientific names, the Index list associated with this group seems not to be very useful. So the open question is whether it may be worth producing several smaller groups of tiny flowers, perhaps each one selected based on color (which can generally be seen without magnification).
